Linux TTY Documentation

Jan Charvat and I wrote documentation for the TTY portion of the Linux 1.3.59 kernel for an undergraduate operating systems class we took during Winter 1996. As several people ask for copies every year, I decided to make it available for download here. Some caveats:

• Our work is provided as a set of files - one LaTeX file, two or three xfig files, and a few others. Because we couldn't figure out at the time how to include them in the LaTeX file, the xfig files need to be separately viewed and/or printed.
• As we only had six weeks to study the source code and write the document, there's always a possibility we might have made a few mistakes here and there.
• As the TTY portion of the Linux kernel has been completely rewritten since Winter 1996, our work is entirely incorrect if you are looking at current versions of the Linux source code.
